Vor Gründung der Upside war Martin Daubenmerkl von 2009 bis 2011 Investment Director im Bereich Private Debt der DB Private Equity (zuvor Sal. Oppenheim Private Equity Partners). Davor war er über fünf Jahre, zuletzt als Senior Investment Manager, für VCM Capital Management tätig. In diesen Positionen war er Mitglied im Beirat zahlreicher Private Debt-Fonds.

Martin Daubenmerkl hat 19 Jahre Erfahrung in den Bereichen Private Equity und Private Debt. Er ist seit 2011 Mitgründer und geschäftsführender Gesellschafter der Upside Equity Advisory und seit 2021 als Vorstand der Upside Beteiligungs-AG tätig.

Martin Daubenmerkl absolvierte ein Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg und ist CFA Charterholder.

Stefan Herzog was a founding partner of VCM Capital Management GmbH, Munich, in 1991 and was Managing Director of the company until 2009. During his tenure at VCM Capital Management, the company grew from its inception to a managed volume of EUR 1.6 billion and managed over 30 funds of funds in venture capital, mezzanine and buyouts in Europe, the US and Asia. From 2008 to 2010 he was a member of the management board of Sal Oppenheim Private Equity Partners GmbH, Cologne. Stefan Herzog began his professional career with several years as an investment manager with the Matuschka Group.

Stefan Herzog has more than 25 years of experience in venture capital and private equity. He acted as CEO of Upside Beteiligungs-AG from 2012 to 2022.

Stefan Herzog studied business administration at the European Business School in Wiesbaden, Paris and London. He has served on the advisory boards of numerous private equity funds, including Index Ventures, Geneva, and Sofinnova Ventures, Menlo Park.

Dominik Meyer is co-founder and partner of the Swiss private equity placement agency Axon Partners. Previously, he was Managing Director of various private equity funds of funds in Switzerland, including the first fund of funds for Central and Eastern Europe. Dominik is on the advisory boards of numerous private equity funds in Europe and the USA. In addition, he led over 20 secondary transactions in the private equity sector with a transaction volume of over € 1.5 billion and successfully raised capital for a total of 19 private equity funds.

During his 14 years with Equistone Partners GmbH, Munich, a private equity firm focused on German SMEs, Jan Wiechmann was responsible for eight successful investments from sourcing, execution and support to exit.

Prior to that, he worked for Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, Frankfurt, for several years. Jan began his career as a business analyst at Premiere Medien GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg.

Florian Schulte is Managing Director of Family Office S.K. Management- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Baden-Baden. Previously, he was Managing Partner of Deltavista Group, Zurich / Karlsruhe and CEO of arvato infoscore, Baden-Baden. Florian began his career at McKinsey & Co. in Frankfurt.
